Reconstitution arithmetic

Mass, final volume and an optional aliquot. The units stay explicit.

Keep the calculation in scope.

Enter a mass and final solution volume to calculate concentration. No solvent, preparation or administration procedure is recommended.

The arithmetic, with or without JavaScript

Concentration (mg/mL) = peptide mass (mg) ÷ final solution volume (mL).

Concentration (µg/mL) = concentration (mg/mL) × 1,000. Numerically, mg/mL equals µg/µL. Laboratory aliquot mass (µg) = concentration (µg/µL) × aliquot volume (µL).

This assumes complete dissolution and the entered final volume. It does not account for losses, actual assayed content, chemical compatibility, sterility or stability. Use an independently measured content value when that distinction matters.
