A 2025 methods chapter describes tracing NAD+ synthesis and consumption using labeled precursors and mass analysis. It offers a useful reading lens: a snapshot concentration and a pathway’s turnover are different measurements.

For a paper claiming altered NAD+ metabolism, ask which process the experiment can distinguish. A change in abundance alone may leave synthesis and consumption unresolved. Methods are part of the evidence, not background decoration.

This is a selected methods reference, not a newly reported 2026 clinical result. Our NAD+ profile also introduces compartment-specific questions and mitochondrial transport research.
